Thrombin generation in children with febrile neutropenia

Background Febrile neutropenia (FN) is a common and serious complication in patients with leukemia. Hemostasis inflammation are two interrelated systems response to infection. We aimed investigate the course of thrombin formation febrile attack children acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Methods Thrombin generation was monitored treated for ALL at diagnosis (t 0 ), 48 th hour FN (t1) after recovery from 2 ). Results Twenty-nine 50 healthy as control were enrolled into study. Mean endogenous potential (ETP) mean peak value results t 1 significantly higher than , groups, respectively. A positive but statistically nonsignificant correlation between ETP values duration observed. Conclusion Although enhanced both due chemotherapy or malignancy itself, our revealed that also increased neutropenic infection
